One dead in late-night North York shooting

Toronto police say one person is dead after a late-night shooting in North York.

Police say officers responded just before midnight to a call reporting the sound of gunshots near Allen Road and Lawrence Avenue.

They found a male victim in a plaza parking lot who had been shot.

Police say he was sent to hospital and later pronounced dead.

The homicide unit is investigating.

Police did not immediately release any further information about the victim or suspects.
