First Published:

An Oakville woman is among two people charged in connection with a shooting at a strip club in Vaughan late last month.

York Regional Police responded to reports of gunshots at the “Whiskey a Go-Go” venue at Rivermede and Bowes roads at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29.

Officers say they found evidence of gunshots near the main entrance but no one was injured in the shooting.

On July 4, police arrested 36-year-old Noel Francis of Courtice, Ont., and 22-year-old Payton Higgs of Oakville.

Investigators executed search warrants on Friday in both Courtice and Oakville, where a firearm was found.

Francis and Higgs each face multiple firearm-related charges.

Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage of the area to contact #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 6471.
