Halton Police are appealing to the public following an early morning home invasion in Oakville on Sept. 4 in which a resident inside was injured and a car was stolen.

At approximately 3:55 a.m. two masked suspects in dark clothing entered a home on Heritage Way by breaking glass on the front door.

One suspect confronted a male adult resident on the upper floor of the house and demanded keys for a Mercedes SUV parked in the driveway. The suspect then hit the victim in the face with a hammer and stole the car keys. Both suspects then fled the scene in the vehicle.

The adult male resident sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the attack.

Investigators are appealing to the public for any video footage (dash cam or doorbell) in the area of Heritage Way, Upper Middle Road and Third Line around the time of the offence.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.
