Norfolk County crash kills 55-year-old, sends another to hospital

Ontario Provincial Police say one person has died and another person is in hospital following a single-vehicle collision near Simcoe, Ont. on Thursday night.
Officers responded to the crash shortly after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Turkey Point Rd. and McDowell Rd. East, where a pickup truck collided with an unoccupied mini-excavator.
OPP say a 55-year-old person from Otterville, Ont. was pronounced dead at the scene.

They say another person was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased.
The intersection was closed for an investigation, but it has since reopened.
