Niagara police say thief in Grimsby targeted unlocked homes

Detectives in the Niagara Region are investigating after a series of homes in Grimsby were broken into early Thursday morning.
Between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m., at least four homes in the area of Main St. East and Park Rd. South were targeted.
Niagara Regional Police say the suspect searched the exterior of the homes until he found an unlocked window or door and gained entry that way.
In some cases, the suspect cut away window screens in order to get inside. He used a flashlight, and walked around stealing cash and electronics while the residents slept.
The suspect even stole a car from a residence, but abandoned it a short time later in the area of Elizabeth St. and Carnegie Ln.
The suspect is described as a White male with a slender build. He was wearing all black clothing, including gloves and a face covering.
