Niagara police investigate after man killed while walking his dogs

Police are investigating after a man was killed Wednesday afternoon while he was walking his two dogs in John Allan Park in Niagara Falls.

Officers say they responded to a call of a disturbance just before 3 p.m. to a park near Kalar and Mcleod Roads.

Emergency responders say they found a man suffering from “critical injuries”.

Paramedics say they began taking life-saving measures but were unable to save the man, pronouncing him dead at the scene.

Investigators have identified the man as 47-year-old Lance Cunningham of Niagara Falls.

Detectives say while a suspect involved with Cunningham’s death is at large there is no immediate threat to public safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
