Niagara Police investigate 2 fires in West Niagara

First Published:

Police are currently investigating two fires that happened within 20 minutes of each other Friday morning in West Niagara.

Emergency crews responded to a fire at around 5:45 a.m. to a home in the area of Bridgeport Drive in the village of Jordon in Lincoln.

Niagara West Fire Chief Greg Hudson told CHCH News that the home was partially demolished and unoccupied.

Firefighters say the fire was well involved but that the cause of the fire is unknown.

Emergency crews responded to a second fire at around 6 a.m. at a barn near young Street and Regional Road 12 in West Lincoln.

Officers told CHCH News that there were no chickens inside the barn at the time.

Firefighters say the cause of this fire is unknown but that is also suspicious.

Portions of Young Street between South Grimsby Road and Grimsby Road have been closed during the investigation.
