Niagara police identify human remains found in West Lincoln as missing man

Niagara police have confirmed the human remains found in West Lincoln in early October are those of a man who went missing in March of 2022.

Police have identified the person as Kyle Brocklebank, who was last seen in the Smithville area on March 24 of that year and was reported missing a few weeks later.

Human remains were found on Oct. 9 of this year in the area of Young Street and South Grimsby Road 6 West.

A local resident discovered a jawbone, believed to be human. Clothing was also found on-scene.

Police forensics members and a forensic anthropologist were also involved in the investigation as were detectives and a police missing person coordinator.

According to police, criminality is not suspected in the death and there is no risk to public safety.

Police say further details will not be released out of respect for Brocklebank’s family and his privacy.
