Niagara police charge 2 men, seize rifle after investigation

Niagara police say two men are facing firearm related charges after executing a search warrant at a residential address in St. Catharines.
At 4:15 p.m. on Monday, police received authorization to search an address located in the area of Chetwood St. near Churchill St.
Officers say two men were arrested and a loaded .22 caliber bolt action rifle was seized.

Michael Roberts, 42, of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with possess firearm other than a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence, and careless storage of a firearm, weapon, or prohibited device.
Baylea Pritchard, 23, of St. Catharines was arrested and is also facing the same charges.
Both Roberts and Pritchard are being held for virtual bail hearings scheduled Wednesday at a St. Catharines courthouse.
