Niagara man charged in physical, sexual assault investigation

Niagara Regional Police Service have charged one man in connection with an investigation into allegations of physical and sexual assault of an adult female victim in Welland.

Detectives say that the incidents occurred between January 1 and July 19 of this year and the victim and suspect are known to one another.

On Wednesday, 51-year-old Mark Keating of Welland was arrested and charged with voyeurism, sexual assault, assault and assault with a weapon.

Keating has been held in custody awaiting a video bail hearing on Thursday.
