Niagara Falls expects to see over 1M people for April’s Solar Eclipse

First Published:

Niagara Falls mayor Jim Diodati gave an update on property taxes and talked about the Solar Eclipse event coming up in April.

“Niagara Falls is going to be what they call the path of totality. We are going to have NASA there, the Canadian Space Agency; we’re going to break a Guinness World Record.” said Mayor Diodati.

They have been told to expect 8-9 times the amount of people that Niagara Falls has seen at their biggest event. The biggest event ever held was in 2012 when Nik Wallenda walked across the Falls, and that brought in 130,000 people in person that day. So the mayor is expecting at least 1 million people in Niagara Falls on April 8th. There city is planning entertainment and more that day so there is more for people to do than just watch the eclipse
