Niagara Falls councillors embark on Bruce Trail trek to support childhood cancer research

Two Niagara Falls city councillors have kicked off a 1,000 kilometre trail trek for childhood cancer research.

Councillor Victor Pietrangelo and councillor and former Olympian Mike Strange set out on a 30-day run in Tobermory Friday.

The councillors will be following the Bruce Trail and working their way down to Niagara, running about.

Thirty-three kilometres a day through treacherous terrain and unpredictable weather. It’s all in support of the BoxRun charitable foundation.

This is the fifth athletic endeavor to raise funds for BoxRun.

To date, the BoxRun has raised more than $350,000 for childhood cancer research and support.
