Niagara-bound lanes of the Skyway bridge to close Saturday night

The scheduled closure of all Niagara-bound lanes of the Burlington Skyway bridge will be happening on Saturday this coming weekend.

After pressure from the tourism industry on the Ontario government, the MTO has altered the maintenance schedule that was originally set for the Niagara-bound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth Way.

This weekend, maintenance will begin Saturday night with one lane remaining open at 8:30 p.m. All Niagara-bound lanes will then be closed at 10 p.m. until they re-open at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Maintenance was originally scheduled to occur on select Friday nights throughout the month of July to replace one expansion joint of the bridge.

At this time, the change in schedule is in effect for this coming weekend only.
