Neighbours ‘really concerned’ after violent night at the Winona Peach Festival

First Published:

Hamilton police say they prevented what could’ve been a significant tragedy at the Winona Peach Festival over the weekend, after tackling a man who had a loaded handgun.

Organizers with the Winona Peach Festival say they’re going to be meeting to discuss what next year’s event will look like when it comes to safety, after Hamilton police tackled a man with a loaded handgun at the festival this past Saturday.

Neighbours in the area that Simone Gavros talked to this morning say they are surprised that this happened in an area filled with hundreds of families, children and teenagers.

This hasn’t been the first incident to take place at a festival this year many organizers should be thinking about additional safety plans.
