Motorcycle passenger dies after crash with SUV on Hamilton Mountain

Police say a motorcycle passenger has died in hospital following a collision with an SUV on the Hamilton Mountain Thursday night.

Officers responded to the collision shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Upper James St. approaching Twenty Rd.

Police say the motorcycle carrying two people was travelling northbound when it collided with a Toyota SUV travelling in the opposite direction.

The motorcycle driver was also taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the driver of the SUV was treated in hospital before being released.

The affected stretch of Upper James St. was closed for several hours. Investigators uncovered evidence of a third vehicle whose involvement is still undetermined.
