Motorcycle accident in Smithville sends 1 man to hospital

Niagara police are investigating after a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in Smithville Tuesday afternoon.

Police say a man lost control of his motorcycle around 2 p.m. in the area of St. Catharines Street and Industrial Park Road.

Niagara EMS transported the man to an out of region hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the investigation has been taken over by collision reconstruction detectives.

St. Catharines Street from Industrial Park Road to Townline Road was closed for several hours while police investigated, but has since reopened.
