HAPPENING NOW:
Wind turbine study
Health Canada has tweaked its methods for a study on the possible health effects of wind farms.
The federal agency made the revisions after a public consultation. Changes were made to the assessment of infrasound and to a questionnaire to be administered by Statistics Canada. Turbine opponents claim exposure to low-frequency noise and vibrations from wind turbines can lead to sleep disorders, headaches, depression, anxiety and even blood pressure changes. Results of the study are expected late next year.
