Using duct tape in hospitals
There’s yet another use for duct tape.
It’s now being used to prevent the spread of infections in hospitals.
Researchers marked a square using duct tape on a hospital room floor of patients who were in isolation.
They found doctors and nurses could safely communicate with these patients without putting on gowns and gloves when they stayed in the safe zone marked with the tape.
Experts say the duct tape box saves thousands of dollars a year in medical equipment, and improved communication between patients and hospital staff.
