Tuberculosis drug

“Johnson and Johnson” is looking for U.S. approval for the first new type of drug to fight tuberculosis in more than four decades.

the experimental drug would also be the first medicine specifically used to treat “multi-drug resistant tuberculosis”, in which at least two of the four primary drugs for treating TB don’t work.

Tuberculosis is caused by bacterial infection of the lungs and other areas of the body.

The World Health Organization estimates about 3,800 people die from tuberculosis throughout the world every day.
