HAPPENING NOW:
The deep rooted history of lacrosse celebrated at Indigenous Heritage Night

This Saturday the Toronto Rock will be playing in the Indigenous Heritage Night game at FirstOntario Centre against the Vancouver Warriors.
This game has become one of the biggest nights for the Toronto Rock, as there is so much rich history in the game of lacrosse from the Indigenous people.
On Saturday night there will be Ninjiichaag The Spirit Within- a group of Men’s Traditional Singers from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation performing a drumming ceremony, a Smudging Ceremony. At halftime there will be a Stick Ball Game between Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe Baagaadowewin, narrated by Gary Parker of Seneca Nation, along with Strong Water Singers who will perform then and during timeouts.
Emily Vukovic learned the history of the game from Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Famer Cam Bomberry, and got a lesson in traditional wooden stick making from Daniel Bo Henhawk.
