Tanning bed bill passes

After several delays, a bill banning minors from using tanning beds has passed unanimously at Queen’s Park.
It will stop tanning salons in Ontario from selling services to anyone under 18 and would require them to ask for ID from anyone who looks younger than 25. The legislation will also ban ads and marketing of tanning services that specifically target minors. Businesses that break the rules would face a fine of up to $25 thousand. Tanning salons will be required to put signs up about the ban and the health risks associated with tanning.
