HAPPENING NOW:

Study to extend CPR

Extending resuscitation efforts by just 10 or 15 minutes could improve survival rates for those who suffer cardiac arrest in the hospital.

That’s according to a new study that examined data from over 64,000 patients who underwent in-hospital resuscitation.

The average duration of resuscitation efforts varied greatly among the 435 hospitals in the study.

Patients at facilities where attempts lasted the longest were most likely to be revived and discharged from the hospital.
