Statins and Diabetes
There’s more evidence that statins, a class of drug used to lower cholesterol, could have a downside.
A new study suggests they may increase the chance of developing type 2 diabetes.
Researchers examined the records of thousands of post-menopausal women who didn’t have diabetes and found that 7% of them were taking statins at the time.
More than ten years later, nearly 10% of the statin users had developed diabetes.
