Snacking may be expanding your waistline.

Researchers looked at dietary surveys filled out in the seventies and compared them to surveys conducted in 2006.

They found people ate roughly five hundred calories more each day in 2006 compared to to 1977.

Bigger portions accounted for some, but increased snacking added about forty calories a day.

Researchers say food advertisements encourage us to eat, even if we’re not hungry.

They recommend eating just three meals a day — and if you do need a snack, munch on healthy fruits and vegetables.
