Shakeup at Hewlett Packard
Hewlett-packard is discontinuing its tablet computer and smartphone products.
HP also says it may sell or spin off its personal computing division.
It’s one of the biggest shakeups in the company’s 72-year history.
Analysts say it appears HP is following the route taken by IBM, which now makes most of its money from software and services.
News of the tablet’s end overshadowed HP’s report of a 9% year-over-year increase in its third-quarter net income of $1.9 billion.
