HAPPENING NOW:
Shake up in top union spots

Canadian Auto Workers President Ken Lewenza is punching out as his union goes through a historic merger.
Lewenza and Dave Coles, head of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Uunion of Canada are both bowing out of the running to lead their new combined union, called Unifor.
They’re endorsing senior CAW member Jerry Dias for President who’s hoping the new union’s members will back him at a convention set for the Labour Day weekend. Unifor will be the country’s largest private-sector union.
