Reports of Blackberry cutting 40% of its workforce

There are reports that Blackberry may be cutting as much as 40% of its workforce.

The Wall Street Journal says that the cut will affect thousands of employees at the Waterloo based company.

According to the paper, Blackberry has not commented on the allegations.

The company just unveiled a new smart phone model, the Z30, which will be available in Canada before Christmas.

That means it will hit stores not long after the latest iPhones.
