Recipes to spice up your tea during National Hot Tea Month

January is National Hot Tea Month. With temperatures like we’ve been having, a warm cup of team would certainly be helpful.
Shabnam Weber, president of the Tea and Herbal Association of Canada shared two recipes to spice up your tea.
Apple Pie Latte
1 tsp or teabag black tea
1/4 cup apple cider
1/4 milk of your choice
1/3 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp honey
Directions:
Combine cider, cinnamon and milk in a pan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. In the meantime, heat 1 cup fresh water to a boil; steep tea for 5 minutes. Remove tea.
Pour tea in a cup halfway, top with heated cider/milk and sweeten with honey to taste.

Mexican Spiced Chai Mocha
1tsp or 1 teabag chai tea
1/4 tsp cocoa
1/3 tsp chili powder
1/2 cup milk (of your choice)
1 tsp maple syrup (more as desired)
Directions:
Combine cocoa, chili powder and milk in a sauce pan, bring to a boil and remove from heat. In the meantime, bring 1 cup freshly drawn water to a boil; steep tea for 5 minutes.
Pour tea into cup, top with cocoa and sweeten with maple syrup as desired.
