Popcorn butter and Alzheimer’s

This might make you re-think your popcorn.

A study published by Chemical Research in Toxicology says buttery flavoring on popcorn may trigger Alzheimer’s Disease.

While it’s only been observed in test-tube studies, researchers say the buttery flavour can stop the brain’s natural mechanisms of clearing Alzheimer’s.

It’s also linked to lung damage in workers at factories that produce microwave popcorn.
