Pig virus spreads again
A deadly pig virus has been confirmed at a fourth Southwestern Ontario farm. An Agriculture Ministry official says tests confirm an outbreak of the highly contagious Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea at a hog farm where animals had fallen ill. Another farm in Southwestern Ontario was discovered to have Canada’s first case of PED last week. Officials say the virus poses no risk to human health or food safety.
