Oils lower blood pressure

New research finds you can reduce your cholesterol and blood pressure levels by changing the kind of oils you cook with.

Researchers in Japan found a combination of rice bran oil and sesame oil could lower blood pressure.

The study of 300 people with mild to moderate hypertension, found that adding roughly 1.25 ounces of a rice bran and sesame oil mixture to their daily diet resulted in a drop in blood pressure nearly equivalent to that experienced by those taking a standard blood pressure medication.

Those who added the oil mixture to their diet also showed a drop in “bad” cholesterol.

Antioxidants found in the oils may be the key.
