Observe a “delightful rarity” called a planetary alignment until June 27th

Five of the planets have arranged themselves in a straight line across the morning sky in what The Great Orbax from Department of Physics at the University of Guelph calls a ‘delightful rarity’.

The planetary alignment has not taken place for 18 years and it will be another 18 years after this one.  From now until Monday Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will line up in order of their orbits from the sun.  It will take place early in the morning, just before dawn.

The Great Orbax says that you can see this without any special equipment, you just need to get up and look.

If there is good weather on the morning of June 23rd it would be the best time to observe this phenomenon because the crescent waning moon will be in the middle of the lineup.
