Niagara Falls mayor Jim Diodati joined us for his weekly update on the city.

Capacity limits were lifted Monday for bars, restaurants and gyms. Diodati says the restaurant industry in Niagara Falls is happy about this.

“It’s been challenge after challenge and everyone in the service industry has been hit so hard,” Diodati said. “Now the problem is finding staff. Often places are closed a few days a week because there’s no staff, so get out and support the restaurants.”

Casinos were also included in the capacity lifting. OLG Casino has made a payment of $4.6-million to the city with revenue coming in.

Diodati says they are putting all of that money back into the city’s infrastructure, trails and policing in the tourist areas.

Niagara Falls is jam-packed with events coming up. This weekend, Niagara Falls Comic-con fan-fest and Frightmare in the Falls are running Friday, Oct. 29 to Saturday, Oct. 30.
