New wellness centre in Hamilton is helping people deal with Parkinson’s disease through exercise

Parkinson’s is a debilitating disease that can affect many individuals throughout their daily lives, but there is a new spot in Hamilton that is helping those individuals with Parkinson’s.
Tim Bolen visited the Parkinson’s Wellness Innovation Centre, which is a place that is helping people with Parkinson’s retrain their brain to help them move bigger and better.
Parkinson’s is a disease of the brain where there is a lack of dopamine that makes you’re body move slower. It not only affects the way you move, but also affects your speech, facial expressions and you may get depression and anxiety. But at the wellness centre, they use exercise to get the dopamine going.
There is an open house at the Parkinson’s Wellness Innovation Centre on Chatham Street in Hamilton this Saturday from 11-2pm, where you can learn more about the programs they offer.
