New prostate cancer test
Researchers have developed a new test to detect prostate cancer — and no needles are involved.
Experts created a urine test that looks for two genetic markers linked to prostate cancer.
In a new study, 13-hundred men with high PSA levels completed the urine test.
They also had surgery or a biopsy to confirm a cancer diagnosis.
They found the test detected cancer in nearly 70% of the patients considered high-risk, and in 20% of low-risk participants.
