New method of creating stem cells
New research out of Japan could be a game-changer in stem cell research.
Scientists have discovered how to create stem cells without having to use embryos. The study was done using mice cells. The technique involves bathing mature cells in an acidic solution. The research is promising but must still be replicated in humans. If successful, the research could offer a simple and cheaper way to replace damaged cells, or even grow new organs.
