Drivers who pass schools on their daily routes will have to pay more attention at school crossings.

Motorists and cyclists are required to remain stopped at pedestrian crossovers and school crossings until everyone is off the road.

If motorists or cyclists break the law, they could face up to $150 to $500 and up to 3 demerit points. In a community safety zone, fines could be doubled.
