Morning after pill in New York schools

Some New York City high schools will make the “morning after” pill available to students.

The Department of Education says girls as young as 14 will be able to get the “plan b” emergency contraception without parental consent.

It’s part of a pilot program that parents have been notified about.

Teens can opt out if they want.

The city says about seven thousand girls get pregnant by the time they reach the age of 17, with more than half choosing to get an abortion.
