Monsters of Schlock member releases monthly stargazing guide for Hamilton area

By night, Burnaby Orbax is a member of the Monsters of Schlock, an extreme two-man circus sideshow comedy magic extravaganza. You’ll see him pull a monster truck from hooks in his back, fall 14 feet through a table or wear a 20-pound beard of bees all for the sake of entertainment.
But by day, he is the science communication and media officer for the department of physics at the University of Guelph. His roles for this job are a lot safer such as creating stargazing guides every month.
“We’re aiming this to be something that young people and families can do together,” Orbax said in an interview with Bob Cowan on Morning Live.
At the beginning of each month, Orbax releases a short YouTube video explaining what may be visible in the night sky in the Hamilton and Guelph areas.
He said the planets Jupiter and Saturn will be dominating the sky in the early evening during the start of January.
Towards the end of the month, you will be able to see Mars and Venus around 7 a.m.
Orbax has a bachelor’s degree in physics, a minor in mathematics and a masters degree in physics.
