Misunderstood vomiting syndrome leads to migraines
It’s not a glamourous health issue – but it is believed to be a common one, that is often misdiagnosed.

The condition can be triggered by anxiety or stress.
Dr Bob Issenman of the McMaster Children’s Hospital specializes in digestive illnesses including CVS. He says getting a confirmed diagnosis is important in treating the condition.

Unfortunately, children don’t really outgrow CVS. In 85-per cent of cases, they go on to develop migraine headaches.
The condition is coming into the spotlight this week. The Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association is getting a profile boost from Grey’s Anatomy star Chandra Wilson. As of tomorrow, she’ll take on the role of spokesperson. Her own daughter has been diagnosed with CVS.
In an effort to treat the illness, the McMaster Children’s Hospital has established a Canadian network. It lists physicians all across the country who specialize in CVS.
