About 40-thousand dollars was raised Wednesday to support the Mental Health and Addiction Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton.
The 3rd annual mental health morning attracted more than 400 people to the breakfast that featured keynote speaker Silken Laumann.
The four-time olympian shared her inspiring story of competitive sport and her realization that even elite athletes aren’t immune to mental illness.
The breakfast also included presentations of Spirit of Hope awards, to individuals and organizations that help others with mental illness.
