We can all be a little crazy sometimes. That was a little reminder from the keynote speaker at a Friday morning conference organized by Halton’s suicide prevention coalition. Toronto journalist Sandy Naiman spoke candidly about her 53-year history with mental illnesses. Everything from schizophrenia to a diagnosis 2-years ago of anorexia. She also shared a very personal perspective on the mental health system. Maria Hayes reports.
Sandy Naiman works as a freelance writer. She also writes about her mental health experiences in the online blog “Coming out Crazy.” The link is: http://blogs.psychcentral.com/coming-out-crazy/
