Matthews speaks on Mac Kids brain clinic shutdown

Ontario health minister Deb Matthews has responded to concerns over the recent closure of the McMaster Children’s Hospital brain injury clinic.
“Instead of having to wait for two weeks for an appointment because that clinic only operated one day every two weeks, they will be able to get the care they need in a more timely way. We are transforming health care when services can be provided in the community instead of in the hospital.”
Matthews admits this is a re-organization — but says children with brain injuries will still receive the appropriate care at Mac Kids.
