59,000 New jobs were created in Canada last month, dropping the unemployment rate 0.2 per cent.

The unemployment rate is currently at 7.2 per cent. StatsCan says there were job gains in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba and Prince Edward Island, while there was little change in the other provinces.

In Hamilton, the unemployment rate fell to 6.1 per cent – down 0.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, in the United States, 146,000 jobs were created in November dropping the national unemployment rate to 7.7 per cent.
