HAPPENING NOW:
Male birth control
Scientists are one step closer to creating a birth control pill for men; all thanks to an accidental finding in a Boston lab.
Scientists at the Dana-Farber Cancer institute were experimenting with a compound meant to block a cancer-causing gene.
But male mice given the pill became infertile, producing far fewer and less mobile sperm.
The pill didn’t reduce their sex drive, and the effects were totally reversible after treatment was over.
But of course, it’ll be awhile before this is tested on humans.
