The city of Hamilton’s public health services is investigating four cases of legionnaires’ disease.
Legionnaires’ is a type of pneumonia that is caused by legionella, a bacterium found primarily in warm water environments.
Public Health Ontario laboratories has noted an increase in the number of cases across the province.
A medical advisory has been issued to area physicians informing them of the local and provincial cases.
