Kidde smoke, carbon monoxide detectors recalled

Certain models of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are being recalled across North America.
They are Kidde branded AC-DC detectors with battery backup, models KN-COSM-IBACA, i12010S-CO-CA and i12010S-CA. They were sold between January and May, 2014.
The problem: if the power goes out at the same time as the system does its once-a-minute sensor check, the device will lock up, and not go off if there is smoke or carbon monoxide. Kidde discovered the issue during a quality check.
They are white, round, and labels with the model number and date code are on the back.
