HAPPENING NOW:
Italian-made cheese recalled
An Italian-made cheese is being recalled because of concerns it may be contaminated with listeria.
Mauri Brand gorgonzola cheese, which is sold in packages of approximately 1.44 kilograms, is being voluntarily recalled by the importer. The labels on the cheese have a best before date of July 4th, 2013. No illnesses have been reported, but listeria can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
