Ford Canada is investing $700 million in it’s Oakville plant.
The carmaker says the investment will secure more than 2800 jobs.
The re-tooling will see several new cars brought to the plant, alongside its current models, the Ford Edge, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKX and Lincoln MKT.
The Canadian and Ontario governments are also expected to add to Ford’s investment to upgrade the facility.
Work on the transformation at the Oakville plant is already underway and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2014.
