Still trying to figure out that work-life balance? Personal concierge Tarra Stubbins joined us with tips she uses for her celebrity clients.

What is work-life balance?

Stubbins says it is a way to maintain energy in a way that makes you feel fulfilled and engaged as a whole human and to avoid mental exhaustion.

She says many people believe they are great at multitasking, but she says the human brain can only think of one thing at a time.

“Millennials are really focusing more on mental health balance to work life balance,” said Stubbins.

She says 33 per cent of Millennials say managing their work, family and personal responsibilities has become more difficult in the last two years. 45 per cent say hours have increased in the last five years and 78 per cent are part of a dual career couple, compared to 47 per cent of Baby Boomers.

She reminds that people should be focusing 100 per cent on one thing at a time. Therefore, once you are done focusing on one thing for the day, it is easier to transition and focus 100 per cent on other things.

Stubbins has a technique to help. She recommends setting a timer for 25 minutes on Pomofocus. The timer will remind you when to take a short break, a long break and when to focus.
